IS there a cemetery that has a lot of NIESENs in Chicago? John Dvorak
Hi John, Years ago I did a lot of research on the Niesen's of Chicago as my sister-in-law's mother was named Niesen. It is a very old name and goes back to the earliest years of Chicago. Many early Niesen's are buried in St. Boniface Cemetery as a primary German cemetery of the time. In later years, Queen of Heaven became a major cemetery as Niesen's moved further out to the suburbs. The family I was tracing originated in Wittlich (Trier) Germany about 1800. Robert Evensen
