I have a Declaration of Intention document for one Marian Susmarski dated May 2, 1908. Upon immigration in 1903, he settled in Erie, PA with his family. Iamthisclose to connecting the Erie, PA Susmarskis with those who settled in Chicago, including my great grandfather, Franciszek Susmarski. Marian's Declaration indicates his last residence was DREKNO, WEST PRUSSIA. I have been unsuccessful in locating DREKNO via MapQuest in present-day Poland, on Kartenmeister, or through the University of Wisconsin Library's Atlas (online maps) of the German Empire. Also, no results on Google. Based on prior research of the Susmarski family, I suspect this town/village is located in Kujawsko-Pomorskie. Would appreciate hearing if anyone has knowledge of DREKNO. I don't know the place you are referring to but a town search of the Shtetlseeker at jewishgen.org gives several possibilities, such as Darkino, Drakino, Drokino, Druchno, Durkino, Terekhino, and several others in Eastern Europe.
