    1. Re: [COOK-CO-IL] Finding family in the 1920 Census

    3. Hi All, I have a problem and hope your collective knowledge can help with a solution. In the 1920 Census I am trying to find a Wojciech/Albert Kowalczyk (b. 23 Apr 1878 Austria-Poland), his wife, Marya/Mary (b. 1891), daughter Antonia (b. 1915), son Edward (b. 1916). His address in 1918 (WW 1 Draft Reg) is 2735 N. Long Ave. Chicago His 1923 Na address is: 2544 N. Linder Ave., Chicago. These addresses & streets are relatively close to each other. By the 1930 Census their address is 2305 N. Menard, Chicago. I "think" I have done everything I know to do to find this family -- unless I have done something wrong, or not gone about the search correctly. I have also used wild card searches for the surname with no luck. For the Long & Linder addresses, in the 1920 Census their Ward was 33. Their ED was either 2057 or 2056. Looking for the Menard address, the ED was 2063 or 2062. I have searched evey page of those EDs and do not find this family. Even stranger is the fact that I did not find ANY famlies in these EDs on Long, Linder or Menard streets. Those streets seemed to be missing entirely! Can that be true? The cesus taker did not list any families on any of those 3 streets? Were the census takers just suppose to list the families on the main streets? I'm stymied. Any input, suggestions or directions are welcomed. Thank you in advance. Bobbi McCaffrey
