Felicia, As the immediate Past President of the Chicago Genealogical Society and a current Director of the same, I can tell you that the Chicago Genealogist is not currently available in an electronic or digitized form. The Chicago Genealogical Society has an on-going project to index the Chicago Genealogist from the first issue to the latest issue. However, since this indexing project is dependent on volunteers to do the indexing in the first place and then for other volunteers to proof-read what has been indexed, the exact date as to when the indexing project will be finished is unknown at this time. The idea of digitizing the Chicago Genealogist was recently proposed to the Board of Management of the Chicago Genealogical Society. More information is needed on the idea of digitizing the Chicago Genealogist before the Board of Management can make a decision on whether or not to proceed with such a project. You will probably have to hold on to your paper copies of the Chicago Genealogist for the near future and face the possibility that you might be asked to appear on the "Hoarders" program. Good day all, I'm trying to pare down my belongings, and being a long-time CGS member I have tons of old editions of Chicago Genealogist issues. Is it available on CD or some other electronic media? Or available online ad hoc if one is a CGS member? Or, is it best that I just continue to keep my hard copy collection? What 'best practices' have the rest of you long-term genealogists found for managing your old editions? My fear is to be recruited by the producers of "Hoarders". :-) Thanks, Felicia Ziomek Livermore, CA
