Thanks to Masugu who sent the 3 obits of people related to Adam Schatzlein. I previously couldn't find the married names of 2 daughters, so that's a lead. Also thanks to Dave Otto who saw the Michael Schatzlin name on the coroner's index - I hadn't considered looking for that spelling of the name. Looks like I can get the coroner's report from Northeastern IL U. That will be a tremendous aid in sorting this out, & I will start searching other records under that spelling of the name. This all brings up other questions. One of the Barbara Schatzleins was buried, according to her death cert, at B...tano or possibly Bratano Cemetery. Probably a messy misspelling. Any ideas? She died at 4652 S. Ashland. I'd like to request the burial records if someone is familiar with a possible cemetery. Also, anyone know of a German newspaper (approx 1895 to 1930) that might have had obits for those people? The one without an obit that surprises me the most is Adam Schatzlein. I previously found a reference (I googled his name) in a book about Chicago history that labels him as a well known or prominent Chicago undertaker. I wrote to Forest Home Cemetery where he's buried but have not heard a word from that source. I'm hoping that some German newspapers are available on microfilm that I could get from interlibrary loan. Thanks again for all the help, & thanks in advance if someone recognizes that cemetery name & possibly the name of a German newspaper that might have obits. Judy, in Anchorage
