    1. [COOK-CO-IL] CSAGSI Event & Nemecek Library Re-opening

    3. Hi, everyone, FYI, the Nemecek Library has now re-opened, so if you are doing research in Czechs, Slovaks, Russyns, or Moravians in Illinois, you may want to drop by. The library is open on the second Saturday of every month, from 10 AM to 2 PM - this upcoming October 8th. The library is located in the T. G. Masaryk School at 5701 22nd Place in Cicero. A list of holdings is available via the CSAGSI website: www.csagsi.org. Also, the Czech and Slovak American Genealogical Society of Illinois (CSAGSI) has an upcoming program titled: "Chicago Czechs - Then and Now" Evelyn Krenek Fergle will present the upcoming Bubenicek English translation of "History of Czechs in Chicago" originally published in Czech in 1935. CSAGSI will be publishing the English translation by the end of the year. Susan Marcincus will also present a trailer for the upcoming PBS documentary "Czechs in Chicago".
