Thank you to Alice Fluegge, Kay B, & Lila Digby for responses to my post. My Goetzelmann-Herzog family was German & lived at 627 S. Canal (1900) & 2637 W. 22nd Place (1910). In 1918, Margarethe (wife) moved to Oak Park after the death of her husband, but she remained a lifetime member of the Chicago church until her death in 1957. I can't get into my hard copy files because of recent back surgery, but here's what I have in my genealogy program about the church. 2 different articles (Margarethe's 100th birthday celebration) in 1956 give 2 different names to the church. One says she's a "lifetime member of Zion Evangelical Reformed Church" (Chicago). The other says she's the "oldest living member of Zion Evangelical Church at Lotus & Van Buren. My earlier post must have given the incorrect name of the street - Lotus, not Loftus. I have heard there are 2 different Evangelical Churches, one Evangelical & the other Evangelical Reformed. That's where my confusion is since I don't know the different churches or Chicago locations. The church was still in existence in 1956, according to the articles. Thanks for any more help with this.
