I've "rescued" an old photograph identified only as "RANDOLPH" which was taken at the Jones Studio in Providence, Rhode Island. The photograph appears to have been taken in the 1870's with the man in the photograph likely in his 20's at the time the photograph was taken. The photograph was recovered along with others belonging to the 1878 Class of Brown University including both students and staff. Based on that information I was able to locate records for Richard Kidder RANDOLPH who was a member of the Class of 1878 at Brown. Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding Richard and his family: Richard Kidder RANDOLPH III was b. about 1855 in RI, the son of Richard Kidder RANDOLPH Jr. (b. 1814) and Isabele or Isabella Watson UPDIKE. Richard III was one of 4 children born to this couple including, Annie Maria; Elizabeth Lyman; Richard Kidder; and Susan RANDOLPH. Richard married Mary DOREMUS. He was a lawyer practicing in Woonsocket, RI and Chicago, IL. Richard died 23 Sept 1901 in South Kingston, RI at the age of 47.
