I'm also looking for an obit for his son Frank Charles Reins who died 19 Nov 1949 in Chicago. 2. Raven Fan
    3. Hi All, Success! Thank you Sharon, Judy & Cynthia! Thank you all for helping me. I'm sure this is the family! The English pronunciation of Kowalczyk is, phonetically, Kovalcheck. Then we don't know exactly who gave the info - did they have a cold? a lisp? all their teeth? Was the enumerator used to Polish words & pronunciation? Kovagec is close enough for me! The wife, & 2 kids' names & birth dates are on the money. I wasn't going to muddy the waters by mentioning the name of the 3rd child, Stefania, born in 1920. I wasn't sure if they capture her on the census. But her info is correct too. I knew the address was right. I do see that the ED was 2046. The census taker's name was Kathryn Eger (German? English?) I always take this into consideration. Thank you, thank you, thank you. It was driving me nuts! You've put me out of my misery. :) I should have posed my question to the group days ago, but I was SO trying to find this myself. Silly me :) Take care, Bobbi McCaffrey > From: sjlbuethner-sheminee@att.net > This looks probably that it is them ---- > 1920 United States Federal Census > about George Kosagec Name: George Kosagec > [George Kovagec] > [George Kovazec] > Home in 1920: Chicago Ward 33, Cook (Chicago), Illinois [2544 N. 3. Hello Bobbi, I have several missing families in different censuses in various states. Some people were just missed; some people were traveling; the enumerators forgot to go back to houses where no one answered the door; enumerators might have missed a street. Also some pages could have been lost over the years; the microfilms might have been made with incomplete pages. I believe that some people are missing from every census. 3. Hi All, I have a problem and hope your collective knowledge can help with a solution. In the 1920 Census I am trying to find a Wojciech/Albert Kowalczyk (b. 23 Apr 1878 Austria-Poland), his wife, Marya/Mary (b. 1891), daughter Antonia (b. 1915), son Edward (b. 1916). His address in 1918 (WW 1 Draft Reg) is 2735 N. Long Ave. Chicago His 1923 Na address is: 2544 N. Linder Ave., Chicago. These addresses & streets are relatively close to each other. By the 1930 Census their address is 2305 N. Menard, Chicago. I "think" I have done everything I know to do to find this family -- unless I have done something wrong, or not gone about the search correctly. I have also used wild card searches for the surname with no luck. For the Long & Linder addresses, in the 1920 Census their Ward was 33. Their ED was either 2057 or 2056. Looking for the Menard address, the ED was 2063 or 2062. I have searched evey page of those EDs and do not find this family. Even stranger is the fact that I did not find ANY famlies in these EDs on Long, Linder or Menard streets. Those streets seemed to be missing entirely! Can that be true? The cesus taker did not list any families on any of those 3 streets? Were the census takers just suppose to list the families on the main streets? I'm stymied. Any input, suggestions or directions are welcomed. Thank you in advance. Bobbi McCaffrey

    3. Hi Lister's, I just discovered that Bethania Cemetery has a listing of all burials on their website.. It lists a name and burial date. http://www.bethaniacemetery.com They were established in 1894. I was trying to help Judy and there were no Schatzlein's listed so I just put in Sch and it came up with a list of all burials with sch in the name. So play around with the spelling. Flo

    3. Thanks to Masugu who sent the 3 obits of people related to Adam Schatzlein. I previously couldn't find the married names of 2 daughters, so that's a lead. Also thanks to Dave Otto who saw the Michael Schatzlin name on the coroner's index - I hadn't considered looking for that spelling of the name. Looks like I can get the coroner's report from Northeastern IL U. That will be a tremendous aid in sorting this out, & I will start searching other records under that spelling of the name. This all brings up other questions. One of the Barbara Schatzleins was buried, according to her death cert, at B...tano or possibly Bratano Cemetery. Probably a messy misspelling. Any ideas? She died at 4652 S. Ashland. I'd like to request the burial records if someone is familiar with a possible cemetery. Also, anyone know of a German newspaper (approx 1895 to 1930) that might have had obits for those people? The one without an obit that surprises me the most is Adam Schatzlein. I previously found a reference (I googled his name) in a book about Chicago history that labels him as a well known or prominent Chicago undertaker. I wrote to Forest Home Cemetery where he's buried but have not heard a word from that source. I'm hoping that some German newspapers are available on microfilm that I could get from interlibrary loan. Thanks again for all the help, & thanks in advance if someone recognizes that cemetery name & possibly the name of a German newspaper that might have obits. Judy, in Anchorage

If there are more than the 2 Barbaras & the one Michael, I'm interested in all obits of people with those given names. I have all the census info, city directory info, & even some vital stats documents, & some of it is contradictory. I'm hoping the obits will help sort out the players. Thanks in advance.
