    1. [COOK-CO-IL] Which ED district in 1900?
    2. Hi everyone, Can anyone tell me what ED district 1127 Armitage, I think it's Ave., would be for the 1900 census? Think it must be the section called Niles. Or it could have been called West town as I see that for others in the family. Afraid I don't know much about Chicago. Can't find Peter FERDINAND on the 1900 census index on ancestry. He died 21 Sept., 1906 at 1127 Armitage. Record says it was in Niles, so want to check to see if he lived there in 1900 also. Thank you for any help you can provide. Carol

    3. Hi Susanne, If you would list some first names of this family, we may be able to help search for records. Jarecka could have been the feminine form of the the name Jarecki. There are many Jarecki obituaries in the Chicago Tribune Archives; with names, we can see if there are connections for you. Jarecki marriages are listed at the PGSA site as are indices of death notices you can order. http://pgsa.org/Czuchmar.htm http://pgsa.org/dzien9029.htm http://pgsa.org/dzien3071.htm Best wishes in your search, Mary SHieber@aol.com wrote: > I am trying to seperate/connect the JARECKI/JARECKA family members in the 1900-1920s. >

    3. Hi Bart, Thanks for the reply. I have found my Hans (Johannessen) Johnson in the 1900, 1910, 1920 and 1930 census records now. His immigration date is given as 1900 repeatedly. A friend (and norwegian relative -through her husband) found Hans' immigration at Ellis Island. I'll paste it below. He had been in Kristiania long enough for that to be 'home'. I'm fairly sure this is the correct one, though, as he is traveling to a part of MN where other family went. And his age is correct. And then he is listed in the 1900 USA census (in that part of MN) with the correct birth month, birth year, and immigration date. But I haven't found him at the Digitalarkivet sit of ship passengers. (I'm wondering if that database is complete) Ellis Island Record Arrival May 12, 1900 Campania (from Liverpool) Hans Johnson, age 19, single, laborer, residence Christiania, going to home of cousin Mathea Johnson, Cottonwood, MO (which is 9 miles from Normania, MN where he is in the 1900 census) MeLani =This was from MeLani ten days ago: = ="About 2 years ago I wrote the list searching for my elusive =great uncle =Hans Johannessen/Johnson.
