Yes, you would write to the same address. Here is the record they have on Probate Cases: PROBATE CASE FILES INDEX 1871 1935 7/0042/01 The number at the end above is the film number that they would look up. Hope this helps you. Naomi in Illinois
Diane Here is the address that you write to for the information that you want. There is no special department. Give them the information you desire and they will send it to you if it is available. At that time they will also tell you what the charge is for copying the papers (about 25 cent per page). Hope this helps you out. Viggo from Bergen, Norway is looking for information on this Anna who died 1942, Chicago. An obit might help. I will add a part of a research email below. I'm not sure if all of you like seeing research emails, if not let me know and I will not send them. The Madtsen obit several of you found last week helped Viggo add data to his work. He has asked me to try for a death certificate. Someone sent information on ordering, would you please send this to me again. I reformatted my computer this weekend and lost all email work of the last few weeks. Al Askevold ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ From Viggo to cousin Jean. subject--Strandebarm/Voss birth record for Lars Samsonson Bryn Jean, Yes, it is same man that I have as likely candidate too. Al helped me obtain an obit from Chicago Tribune the other day. Maybe he could help out with this one, too ? In 1875 Lars' mother (most likely) was a servant on the BRATTABØ farm in Jondal, and her father came from the ESPELAND farm in same valley (Krossdalen) according to the Vossestrand book. In 1880 Anna Larsdtr. VINSAND lived on the HAUGEN farm when she gave birth to Lars. The one who gave info re: his birth to the minister was Johannes Larsson HAUGEN who was the farmer there from 1850 until 1912 (according to the Jondal BB, Vol.1). * Tellingsår: 1875 * Kommune: Jondal * Kommunenummer: 1227 * Navn på bosted: Brattebøe Antall personer registrert på bostedet: 10 Tostein Eriksen hf g Gaardbruger, Selveier, Nodeanfører 1833 Jondals Sogn og Strandebarms Pr. I have gone to the cook co. assessors site and found the building my grandparents lived in along with the one where my g-grandparents lived, but the photos are terrible. I was wondering if there might be anybody who could get me photos of the building that would be better. One is in the 6400 block of Claremont, and the other is in the 2200 block of N.Dayton. Thanks to all who responded to my query. Bernice's parents were John and Zofi Piotrowski, and I have found them and Bernice's brothers and sisters living in Chicago at the time of the 1930 census. Both Anthony and Bernice were born in Chicago. Anton's parents were both deceased before the 1930 census. Thanks again, Barb P.
Several years ago a relative sent me an article entitled "Noble Street". I believe it came from one of the newspapers. Does anyone have any idea or perhaps a copy. I seem to have misplaced mine and I am in contact with a researcher who would like to see it. If you can lead me to it, I would be most grateful. Thank you. Sophie

Thank you so much, Robin. When I clicked on the document URL links you sent, it took me to a log on screen for ProQuest. I don't have access and my poor little local library doesn't subscribe. I drove 100 miles to the Palm Spring Library several months ago and I have acess to Heritage Quest from my home through a card I got from them but it doesn't have newspaper articles. (It offers census records, Books, PERSI, Revolutionary War records and Freedman's Bank.) I have been blessed in finding books related to a couple of my surnames. At least I know the race car driver's given name now, thanks to you. Much appreciated. I have a group 8 X 34 picture taken February 1944 for basic training graduation of Co D 4th Bn, Camp Wheeler GA. There are some names on the back. One is Emil F Mrinarcik (sp?) who gave his address as 1913 W Armitage, Chicago. Does this name sound familiar to anyone? Does anyone know what happened to him? Could someone please check the address for correct spelling? There is also a Jimmie Gelfo? who list his home town also as Chicago. My deceased husband was in this group and my son would like to track his WW II history. It appears that he wound up with the 8th Infantry Division. Most likely he was a replacement, as this Division had already departed from the US by this time frame. Would all or most of this graduating Company gone together? Thanks, Gladys
I've hit a brick wall trying to find my aunt and uncle in the 1930 census - Anthony (aka Anton) and Bernice (aka Bessie) Kwiatkowski. They were married February 8, 1930 at St. Casimir's Church in Chicago. Anton was born May 18, 1906 and Bernice was born May 20, 1910, so they would have been 23 and 19 years of age. Bernice's maiden name was Piotrowski. Thanks for any assistance! Barb P.
