Hi, Further to my message today I have now received the obituary for Mary Ann Harris mother of George who died September 1962, and would be interested if there are any descendents still living in Illinois. At the time of her death she had five grandchildren and five gt grandchildren. Children by her first marriage to William Schieffer were Mildred (married name Hines) William and Howard, children by George Harris,George T, Mary E and Alice. Regards Yvonne Harris
I tried calling a number that a lister had given last August to see if I could get a copy of my father's high school transcript and the number was no longer in service. I tired a few other numbers, and ended up on the internet, at the Chicago Public School site and found a link for student records requests. Go here: http://www.cps.k12.il.us/AboutCPS/Departments/student_records/ at the bottom you can download the application for student records services. Hi All, I'd like to add my thanks and gratitude to this list. Chicago can be rather difficult to research for those of us from afar but the people on this list are very helpful, freely giving of their time, and often able to ferret out information we couldn't find. Thanks for your help! Hugh Busey

Hi I want to thank all of you who so generously helped me with my continued questions thoughout the years about a Carrie Hagemeister! With a lot of people's help (after 10 years of searching for this person) Thanks to those who recently helped me with my "Mundy requests........that's what did it!) I FOUND her! AND, I found a living relative who I have now talked to, she's 84 years old, very alert and informed and has filled me in on everything!!! She was so excited that I have pages and pages of research and she has pictures that she's sending me. Her daughter, who is my age and Lives in Evanston even called me last night - they are excited! Just want you all to know, it pays to be persistent. I could never find her on the 1910, 1920 or 1930 census, neither could anyone that offered help. I lost her in 1900 when she remarried, but it pays to follow the siblings! But.........she's there in each census! With just a few bits of more info...........there she was! Hi Could some one please let me know the current web site for the Chicago Tribune obituaries achives, mine seems to be out of date. Many thanks Yvonne Harris
I've been trying to find information on one of my families in Chicago in early 20th century. I've been finding death cert's that list funeral directors and addresses that have no present day existence. One address would point to the Ashland-Urbaszewski Funeral home that was at 1237 N. Ashland at some point in fairly recent times; the other address is 1151 N. Noble, which someone indicated might have become Brandt's Funeral Home. While I found info on both of these places...phone numbers and addresses, apparently both are no longer in business, or have changed names and moved. Does anyone know anything about these two organizations? If they are out of business, might their records still reside somewhere? THanks for any help you can provide. Anettka
