    1. Re: [COOK-CO-IL] Trouble Reading Immigration Year
    2. Alice Fluegge
    3. I read the same one Eliz did and considering she was born around 1855-56 it's unlikely she immigrated in 1855, what was her husband's name and if we can find her on the 1910 or 1900 census it should give us a better read on what year should have been there. But considering she was still an alien your date seems more accurate if she had come any earlier she or her husband would have been naturalized. 1. [COOK-CO-IL] Evanston schools - 1910-1918
    2. Susan Husk
    3. What elementary, junior high, or high schools would a student living in Evanston attended during 1910-1918, even if the school no longer exits? Would these schools have been a part of the Chicago Public School system then? What corporation would have their records? What would school have been like in those days? Thank you for any insight into the area. SHusk Indiana

    1. [COOK-CO-IL] Chicago Street - 506 w 61st Street - 1913
    2. Patricia Schultz
    3. All, I have a picture dated September 1913 of 3 boys and a girl sitting on a porch - the rest of the caption states "Chicago 506 W. 61st St." The picture is from a family album the Pauline Pahlke Friedland family passed down. I think they are members of the Helen Pahlke Schuster's family (Pauline's sister). There are many other pictures that appear to be taken in Chicago, but only this one had a notation. I have checked the 1910 and 1920 census records for the members I know of in the Schuster family and they lived on Princeton Avenue, which appears to be near 61st street today. However on the census form it looks like they lived near 27th Street. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. This is the first picture I've ever tried to reserach. Thanks Pattie Pahlke Schultz

    2. Hi Paul; Vincent was using the name William in 1920--I found him using that name in the census and in the WWI Draft registration, ca. 1917, living at 1640 Brigham. In 1929 the Polk Criss-cross directory has a John Mocarski (wife Helen), and Victor Mocarski (wife Helen) living at the address on Brigham--but Vincent and Anna weren't living at their 1930 address on Pierce yet either. There was a Vincent Misukanis in Cleveland, OH in 1942, and I found a Matthew Stankevicius in NY in 1920. Hope this stuff helps.
