    3. Cook Co Listers -- I have a request - - for your opinion. I am curious to find out if anyone on this wonderful List has encountered any problems/issues over the past 4-5 years when requesting obits/newspaper article research, etc., from the A. Lincoln Presidential Library (formerly known as the IL State Historical Library) in Springfield IL. If the problems you encountered were a customer service issue (i.e., could have been - or should have been - easily resolved, but the requestor was made to feel as if the inquiry/request was either futile, without reason, or simply "sillly" as one client told me), please direct your response ONLY to my personal email address of mollx@hotmail.com (please do NOT simply hit "Reply"). I trust you implicitly - and thank you for your input. molly Molly Kennedy P O Box 5785 Springfield, IL 62705 www.mollx.com Genealogy - Confusing the dead, and annoying the living. _________________________________________________________________ i'm making a difference. Make every IM count for the cause of your choice. 3. Hello Margaret, I don't know if a schedule exists or not but here are some links that have the history of the Aragon Ballroom. http://chicago.urban-history.org/sites/ballroom/aragon.htm http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aragon_Ballroom http://chicagouncommon.com/photography/gallery/983/ http://www.encyclopedia.chicagohistory.org/pages/58.html http://www.WTTW.com http://www.chsmedia.org:8081/ipac20/ipac.jsp?session=1175165IM9297.3333&menu=search&aspect=subtab112&npp=10&ipp=20&spp=20&profile=public&ri=&index=.SW&term=%22Aragon+Ballroom%22&aspect=subtab112#focus Carol Janes P.S. My husband and I took ballroom dance classes and our instructors were featured in a special about Chicago During WWII. Our instructors met at the Aragon in the early 40's and their segment was filmed at the Aragon.

    3. Got the information on my Peace Luutheran Church... here it is if any one else is interested This congregation was the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod Peace Lutheran that was later located at 4300 S. California, one block to the east, from 1912. The Mozart and W. 43rd St. location was the original church and school building built in 1903. The pastor listed from the congregation's organization in 1902 until 1932 was Frank C. Streufert. The congregation was still listed in the 2002 LCMS Annual, but it is no longer listed on their web directory. For more information on the location of the records, the LCMS archives can be reached at: Concordia Historical Institute 801 De Mun Avenue Saint Louis, MO 63105-3199 (314) 505-7900 FAX: (314) 505-7901 E-mail: CHI@chi.lcms.org http://chi.lcms.org

    3. If you go directly to the Wisconsin Vital Records site, you can look for this marriage. When you find Henry's marriage in 1903, click on "Search for possible spouse matches" and you will see Annie Hackmaster. You cannot see the record. You can safely send for this record. http://www.wisconsinhistory.org/vitalrecords/ Wildflwr35@aol.com wrote: > Morning! > Thru the Progenealogist site I noticed that it takes me to Ancestry.com for > a Wisconsin pre-1907 Marriage. 1. [COOK-CO-IL] IORNS Family Photograph
    2. Shelley Cardiel
    3. I've "rescued" an old photograph of M. J. IORNS of Mount Vernon, Iowa which was taken at the Gilbert Temple Studio in Clinton, IA. The photograph is dated 1892 with Mr. IORNS appearing to be in his 20's or 30's at the time it was taken. It was discovered along with other photographs of students from the Class of 1892 at Cornell College in Mount Vernon, IA so I'm guessing that he was a student there as well. Based on limited research I believe that I was able to locate the family in census records as follows: 1800 census of Welton, IA: Henry IORNS, age 41, a Grocer, born OH, parents born OH Rebecca IORNS, wife, age 40, Keeping House, born OH, parents born OH Leola IORNS, dau, age 18, at Home, born OH Martin IORNS, son, age 18, at School, born IL James GOLD, boarder, age 20, a Grain Buyer, born OH, parents born OH 1900 census of Chicago, IL - a lodger in the home of James A. & Josephine I. HUME: Martin J. IORNS, age 33, born May 1867, born LA, parents born OH, a Student I'm hoping to locate someone from his family so that this wonderful old photograph can be returned to the care of his family. If you are a member of this IORNS Family, or know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley
