Hi Felicia; The Trib Archives are a subscription service offered through some libraries and other institutions. I get my access on-line through the Godfrey library in CT. Annual membership is very reasonable. Cheers, Masugu

Hi List I am hoping that someone on this list might have Jonas Albert Sundin in their family. He brought my aunt (age 4) to the US. He & my aunt arrived aboard the Empress of Britain on 28 Aug 1913. On the passenger manifest it showed that Jonas Albert was going to his uncle, Otto Erling. Otto was my aunt's father. As far as I know this Jonas Albert is not related to my family - he was born 30 Sep 1891 in Strand Hässjö Västernorrland. I am trying to find out if there is indeed a relationship between my grandfather and Jonas Albert. If anyone out there can shed some light on this fellow I would appreciate hearing from you. Thank you so very much for your time and effort. The JEANES surname is the extended family of my 1st cousin once removed. I'm not actively researching that particular line but I will definitely keep all these obits for future reference. One funny coincidence...one unusual surname mentioned in one of the obits is the surname of my best childhood friend. I'll have to share this information with her. Also, the name of the *husband* for this Ethel Madsen doesn't match either but I will certainly keep that one as well. Thanks again. You've been wonderful. Lois

Would someone be so kind as to look for obituaries on these people? Raymond Sternquist Feb 27, 1967 James Jeanes July 1968 Agnes McMillan June 25 1998 Ethel Madsen January 1984 Last residence: Will County Anything you can come up with will be much appreciated. Lois in California
In 1920, it doesn't say how long they were married. It just gives "married" as their status. The enumerator originally wrote "1869" (immigration) in the wrong box, so he crossed it out and wrote "M" in that box. Fred is listed as brother, not mother. Hi I need your expertise! I found that my Annie Holmer was actually Annie Blanchard from 1903 - 1917 I received a WI marriage certificate today and it said exactly what I thought - She was married in Kenosha. Now I started searching again for Annie Holmer (as her mother's obit referred to her) I find a Annie married to a John Holmer - 1920 - Kaukauna Ward 2, Outagamie, Wisconsin Her birth date is a couple of years off, her immigration is 1 year off I can't read how long they were married. If they were married in the 1910 census it can't be her, but.........I can't find John Holmer in 1910 or 1930. Now she is living with husband John, his father and 4 brothers although it says Fred born in 1870 is his mother! I can't find one of them in 1910 after hours of searching. Hi List, Is it possible to order a non-official copy of a death certificate from the courthouse in Cook Co? If so, what is the charge for the this? Also, apparently there is a Woodlawn Cemetery somewhere in the Chicago area. Where is it located and does anyone take tombstone photos in that Cemetery? Thanks, Carolyn (TX)
Hi Kim No you did not do anything wrong on ancestry.com. There are so many Anna Andersons listed that I searched for Margot Anderson. There are only 17 listed under the New York Passenger List and the correct one was the 2nd one on the list. In order to find out what year to search for in naturalization reords you need to find Anna Anderson on the US 1910 or 1920 Census as there is a column for year of naturalization. Now she might have gotten married by 1910 or 1920 and then her last name would be different or she might not have become naturalized after all. Naomi > Hi - How did you find the passenger manifest on Ancestry? I tried > searching for it and couldn't find it. Kim Did you give them a specific court, date and film number to do the look-up for Anna Anderson? Maybe you did not give them enough information. I have sent two letters for them to look-up the naturalization record for two great uncles. I gave them the names, name of the court, date of year, and film number. So far I have not heard back from them. I found Anna Anerson's passenger manifest on ancestry.com and she is listed as a widow traveling with her two daughters going to her brother-inlaw August Skoglund. Could not find her on the US 1910 census as there were over several thousand Anna Andersons listed and I don't have the time to look at that many.
