    3. My sister reminded me that the "Chateau" was on Clark st. not far from the Aragon Balloom. It was very popular as well. In the mid 30's Eddy Howard was the big band there. She also knew people in the "21 Club" and took dance lessons from some of them The 'Club' at the Chateau was called "The Regulars" I ordered the "Dream When Your feeling Blue" book from Amazon for each of us. Thanks so much for the information. dorothy

    3. On the 1930 census, I have a 69 year old relative listed as an "inmate" at St. Ann's Home, Techny Road, Northfield, Illinois. Does anyone have any idea what type of home this was - nursing home, retirement home, etc? Kathie Groll

    3. Techny is the home of the Divine Word order of priests. Maybe this is a home that they ran. They are still there. Try looking the order up on the internet. 1. [COOK-CO-IL] need book recommendation - 1910-1920ish
    2. Susan Husk
    3. Earlier 'Dream When You Are Feeling Blue' (fiction about Chicago in 1940's WWII) was recommended and it looks like a book that I am looking for, but the one I remember (lost the memory of the title!) is a story set between 1910-1920 ish. Does anyone have a book fiction or non-fiction for Chicago 1910-1920 ish that they recommend? I am willing to discover a new find, but would like to chance upon the one from many years ago. Thank you, SHusk

    3. There was a wonderful review of DREAM WHEN YOU ARE FEELING BLUE in the Books Section of this past Sunday's Chicago Tribune. It is on my 'read list' as well. That era and the Chicago connection sounds too good to pass on!
