Thank you Mary for the obituary, I appreciate your help. Kathy
legacy.com is good for recent obituaries. Could someone tell me what might be a translation of Mikato? I am almost sure that the first letter is a M. Any chance it could be an equivalent to the Jacob? Thank you for any help. Jeanne ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com.

Bonnie: Yes, of course, I remember Super Circus. It came on Sunday afternoons about 4:00 in 1950-52. At least I remember watching it after Sunday dinner. Mary Hartline was the band director; Claude Kirchner was the ringmaster. And I do remember Scampy the clown. But there were two other clowns, I'm pretty sure: Nicky and Cliffy. One of the reasons I remember it is that I was picked out of the line of kids waiting to enter the Civic Theater one Sunday afternoon for the live broadcast. Three or four of us were called later, during the show, to the stage to assist the magician as he "floated" a table magically. Did anyone remember to mention Uncle Johnny Coons, which came on weekdays at noon. When I came home from school for lunch I used to watch it before it was time to hop on my Schwinn and head back to school. > > >Message: 4 >Date: Sat, 05 May 2007 10:58:38 -0500 >From: Bonnie <bselig@gmail.com> >Subject: Re: [COOK-CO-IL] Early Chicago Television >To: cook-co-il@rootsweb.com >Message-ID: <463CA9AE.8030909@gmail.com> >Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1; format=flowed > >Does anybody remember Super Circus - a kids program that may have been >on daily. My Gram was a big fan of Dark Shadows and I would watch it with her. I remember seeing Kate Jackson (Charlie's Angels) during later programs ('70-'71). > I am a bit older than most of you on this list but I > remember all the old tv programs, plus my kids used to > love to watch Dark Shadows when they came home from > school. How about "The Lucky Pup Show" and at Christmas time for a few years "Mr Mistletoe". They are back when there were only certain times when there were programs. It wasn't on all day til midnight. Char PS. Sorry Rosemarie I didn't mean to send to you personally. Please forgive.
The ringmaster was Claude Kirchner. Mary Hartline gave an interview on TV a year or so ago. She looked about the same, always so pretty. You can buy Mary Hartline dolls with her red uniform and the white heartline on the bodice. Sharon ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com.
Hi, I have been reading with interest about the memories of Chicago TV, and I remembered a list called Rogers Basement that had all sorts of memorabilia about early tv shows. I am a bit older than most of you on this list but I remember all the old tv programs, plus my kids used to love to watch Dark Shadows when they came home from school. Anybody remember that one? If anybody is interested type in Garfield Goose and Friends and look for Rogers Basement. Rosemarie __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo! I grew up in the Chicago area, and my husband spent his summers there as a child. When we met, both of us far from home, we had an instant connection from sharing memories about the goose who thinks he's king of the United States. And what about the wonderful serials Thomas ran, such as "Journey to the Beginning of Time"? I also recall a short subject about a railroad journey with bittersweet harmonica accompaniment.
