    1. [COOK-CO-IL] U.S. Air Force records?
    2. Trevor Griffiths
    3. Hi to all listers, A relation of mine was born in Illinois in 1917, a Harley Edsworth CANNON, and enlisted into the Air Force with the Hells Angels, the 303rd Bomber Group, and flew 31 missions as 2Lt., with Lt. Poole as skipper. My question is this, are there any Air Force records available on-line, as my searches through Ancestry don't show any? Any assistance in my query would be appreciated, Hope you all had a safe and happy Easter. Trevor Griffiths in Australind, West Australia.

    3. Trevor, I believe that the time frame you are interested in would be under the jurisdiction of the U.S. Army. Don't think that the U.S. Air Force came into existence until after WWII. Prior to that I think it was called the Army Air Corps. I could be wrong though. 3. No, you don't have to be an IL resident. Legislators might pay more attention to constituents. You can email vs. paper letters. All help is very much appreciated in this fight against HB 5428. 3. I, too, have been trying without success for many years to get 2 different records. It sounds like the key to getting quick response to requests for coroner's reports is to get the Medical Examiner's office to turn over more recent records to the IRAD. Does anyone know how to make this happen? Does the IRAD have to request them or does the Medical Examiner's office have to initiate the move? I would think the Medical Examiner would be all for it to help reduce their workload. Even if records have to be older than 75 years that would at least get us up to 1935 instead of 1911! ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jackye Sullins" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, April 02, 2010 11:17 AM Subject: Re: [COOK-CO-IL] Coroner's Report > Sounds like the same girl I had! 3. ILLINOIS OPEN ACTION ALERT www.ilopen.org IMPORTANT CORRECTION RE: CONTACT INFO HB 5428 Evidently, Illinois does not have any reliable legislative email system. Our colleagues report that every single one of the emails published in our first Action Alert came back as undeliverable. Therefore, the ways to reach an elected official is by phone, FAX, or snail mail. (The latter might work because we are told that the Senate is not reconvening until April 13th.) We are very sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you. In an effort to try and spread the word about this bill, you might want to send your letter to some newspapers at the same time.
