Just posted an inquiry on Edward Earle Chapman in Oak Park...................his name is Edmund Earle Chapman......................
I'm looking for the newspaper obituary for Edward Earle Chapman. In 1942, he was living in Oak Park and working for the Santa Fe Railroad. He died in 1959 but, I don't have an exact date. He was predeceased by his wife Levina (1952). Any suggestions of where I can find this info? Thanks Miki Mangan Fairfield, CT
If it's not on the birth certificate and no one on the list can help you, I'd suggest Googling Glenview Public Library. They probably do lookups in old phone books. Diane
St. Mary's in Evergreen Park? If so, I have snail mailed them and they have been most helpful with providing burial information. They even enclosed a map and I found it quite helpful while I was looking for the graves one day. I don't live in the Chicago area so I'm not at the cemetery too often but do have lots of relatives buried there. - Mary -------------------------------------------------- From: <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, April 19, 2010 4:04 PM To: <[email protected]> Subject: [COOK-CO-IL] St. Mary's Cemetery ?? > Cooksters, > Is there a contact at St. Mary's that would check burial records? > I can't see the kiosk from here! > Mike McDermott, San Jose, CA > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to > [email protected] with the word 'unsubscribe' without the > quotes in the subject and the body of the message

This link will explain about the burial denial you mentioned (scroll down to bottom of the page): http://spuscizna.org/spuscizna/adalbert-cemetery.html St. Boniface Cemetery was one of the earlier cemeteries for German and Polish burials pre-St. Adalbert. St. Adalbert is referred to on many early death certificates as the "Polish Cemetery." John, unless there is something amiss, the address should be on your own birth certificate. Whilst my Greatgrandmother emigrated from Prussia to New Zealand, her mother & 2 sisters emigrated to Chicago, Illinois,1878-1881. Interested to hear from anyone with these names in their family tree. Bruce Lissington Perth Western Australia (ex New Zealand)
Would anybody know how I can receive the delayed birth certificate of my late grandmother, Eulalia S Niesen? She was born in Chicago in 1897. Thank you very kindly. I have her name already in a list of delayed birth certificates, but I did not yet ask for the actual certificate. Here is what familysearch says (I signed up to do the Beta) Our plan (which always seems to change) is to release this new version of Record Search next week. Shortly after this release you will see some new collections published that were not part of the beta test and have not previously been available. This release expands our capacity to publish records and we hope to continue to publish new collection every week, so please keep checking the Record Search web site to see what is new. Thank you again for all of your help. Record Search Beta Team On Fri, Apr 23, 2010 at 1:50 PM, Kim Stankiewicz <[email protected]> wrote: > Hello list: > > > > Am I losing it? They are rolling out a whole new deal with many more db's and the ability to update without shutting things down. It isn't happening this week but soon. Thank you all for confirming that the records aren't actually there. I'm really tired and sleep deprived. I thought perhaps I was losing it! :-) Glad to hear that they plan to put it back up sometime soon. I'll keep checking in the next week or two. Have a great weekend to all! Kim it sure isn't there. I would guess they are upgrading the info and it will be back in a day or 2. Hello list: Am I losing it? Where did the Illinois, Cook County marriage records go on the family search pilot site? http://pilot.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html#p=allCollections;r=0 It was there a few days ago and now I don't see it. But perhaps I'm just overtired. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! Kim
I agree with the others that the burial permits do not provide too much detail. And if you are looking for a common name, there will be several listed. If you go to the below website this person can do a look up for you and send you a copy via email. She usually has a very quick turn around, sometimes the same day. Gail http://www.genlighten.com/provider_lookups/chicago-death-index-burial-permit-index/lookups/new?country_id=24&county_id=597&record_type_id=4&state_id=16
There is a burial permit index available through Family History Library, but I don't believe you can get the actual permits. Try these film numbers: FHL 1295943 through 1295949, 1295971 through 1295976 The names are listed alphabetically. The first roll covers A-Bou, the second Bou-Cul, etc. You could also check FLH 6016533 Fiches 1-70. I've never checked it but it looks promising.
