Hello Mary; Have you ever ordered anything from Chicagogenealogy.com? Well those are the same folks, they've just expanded their services to include other resources. They're very dependable. Cheers, Masugu [email protected]

Hi Everyone, Thought you'd be interested in this wonderful research library located in the T.G. Masaryk School at 5701 W. 22nd. Place, Cicero, IL. This is the last Saturday (opens again in September) the Paul M. Nemecek Genealogy Research Library will be open. Hours are 10:00 until 2:00 and staff will be available for help. This is the CSAGSI (Czech & Slovak Am. Genealogy Soc. of IL). www.csagsi.org No need to be Czech or Slovak.....there's more Chicago and Illinois information than you could possibly imagine! Hope to see you there. Judie Mason Chicago
Morning I believe Cynthia Richardson (from Chicagogenealogy) and her husband run that web page. Linda in Lemont
Cynthia Richardson operates the web site through ChicagoGenealogy. It used to be JUST her doing lookups etc and I would highly recommend her. She is thorough, knowledgeable, and very professional. However, Genlighten employs (for lack of a better word) the services of many others, each providing a different lookup service. I'm not sure how their results are overseen by Genlighten, other than through a customer rating service. Maybe speaking with Cynthia would give you a better idea of the qualifications of the person doing this adoption-related work. Just MHO. But...not all have been indexed yet. I didn't mean that the Cook County site had been on line for 20 years, but that the death occurred 20 years ago. The site says deaths are posted after 20 years. (The familysearch Cook County deaths end in 1922.) Diane
Has anyone had experience with Cook County death records not getting onto the county site after 20 years? The 20th anniversary of my aunt's death passed recently and I looked for her death record on the site, but it wasn't listed. I asked why this was and received the following response: Not all records are online and may need to be ordered thru the mail. Please go to www.cookctyclerk.com for order information and fees. Have others had this experience? Should I give it more time or just go with snail mail? Diane
Try defraging and rebooting and maybe if she still gets a blank page "reload" it. She might still have the blank page in her cache. This is the 'Collection Description' "Name index and images of deaths recorded at Cook County, Illinois - including the City of Chicago. Deaths for Cook County (excluding the City of Chicago) are missing for the years 1910-1915." Source: http://search.labs.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html#c=fs%3A1463134&p=collectionDetails We can still order them from Cook County Clerk, mollx.com, or chicagogenealogy.com. I usually put the year in both boxes of the year range; could be the name you seek is not digitized yet. http://search.labs.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html#c=fs%3A1462519&p=collectionDetails You can find the birth records collection by looking at all the collections. You can also search directly from whatever page you are on by using the 'New Search' on the upper right. This will take you to a blank search page. http://search.labs.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html#r=0;p=allCollections Search all records using: http://search.labs.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html#p=home Mary Linda Johnson wrote: > Does anyone know how to search the LDS Pilot Site for Cook County birth certificates by year?
