    3. Hello List, I have an odd obituary request. I typed in my 2nd great-aunt's name and came up with an obituary for one of her siblings. It didn't give the sibling's name just a list of servivors. The obituary is in The Chicago Daily Tribune on August 18, 1949. If someone has access can you do a look up? Thank you, Missy in Michigan

    3. Nickerson Ave. and Ardmore Ave. both still exist and one did not become the other. Nickerson Ave. is 6900 W from 5800 N to 6150 N.  It runs for 3 1/2 blocks.  Ardmore Ave. is 5800 N and runs from 934 W to 7828 W.  It runs E/W for miles.  You can see both streets on Google maps.  I am no expert on the northside, just look up the numbers to see that they are different streets.  I recommend a great resource entitled "Turner's Expanded Chicagoland Street Guide".  You can get it at most bookstores. 3. Hi John, Years ago I did a lot of research on the Niesen's of Chicago as my sister-in-law's mother was named Niesen. It is a very old name and goes back to the earliest years of Chicago. Many early Niesen's are buried in St. Boniface Cemetery as a primary German cemetery of the time. In later years, Queen of Heaven became a major cemetery as Niesen's moved further out to the suburbs. The family I was tracing originated in Wittlich (Trier) Germany about 1800. Robert Evensen
