Patti, I, too, have a Lyons in my lineage. My half 1st cousin twice removed is Lillian Rawle. She married a gentleman named Lyons. I have no knowledge of his first name. The only evidence I have is the grave marker, which is in Mo unt Carmel Cemetery in Hillside. Sorry Bart; Newsbank's archives for Kansas only go back to 1989, and only one of their sources goes back that far. Cheers, Masugu [email protected]

Thanks Mary. That link for the Examiner is not working for me this morning. Maybe they are down for maintenance. No Chicago connection. He is a long-lost great-great uncle. I was hoping his death could be found via Ancestry or similar so I can verify if this is the correct Charles Hansen. The birth year is correct. Gail, That loophole was closed a number of years ago. You will have to find a local public library that subscribes to the Historical Tribune Archives and probably use an in-house computer to access the database. There are some public library systems that do allow their patrons to access the Historical Tribune Archives from at home but you need a library card from the library system in order to use your home computer. The Chicago Public Library does allow you to access the Historical Tribune Archives from home but you have to enter your Chicago Public Library card number before you can access the database. Looking for someone to do a look up on Philip Palmisano die on July 7, 1965 in Chicago Cook Co. IL. I really appreciate this thank you. Nancy
I sent a request to Kane County but was not certain that the family had remained in that area. So I am posting this to Cook County as well in hopes that these precious photos can be preserved by someone connected to this family. I have a box of photos (some ancestral) for Tonya Sue Sinko (b. June 1970) who graduated from Larkin HS in 1988. Also photos of Jeffrey Scott Kennedy (who may have been her husband). I came into them clearing a home and would like to get them to a family member who wants them. They seem to center on Elgin. Her parents were Walter & Cheryl Sinko. Can you post this message. I am willing to give them to anyone interested/connected with the family. The stuff includes two Century Oaks School group photos from 1980 and 1981. AnnEllen Barr [email protected]
Rosehill Cemetery is one of those cemeteries that is either very helpful one day and not the next. Check the information at find a grave http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=cr&CRid=107767&CScn=rose+hill&CScntry=4&CSst=16&CScnty=705& I suggest you give them a call and ask. The cemetery has or should have burial records for those who are interred. Ask if there is a stone and also the location of the graves. This is not the Rosehill Cemetery in Chicago. Give them a call and google them there is a lot on their website Rosehill Cemetery 5800 North Ravenswood Avenue, Chicago, IL 60660 | 773-561-5940 They are nice people to deal with. I had contact with them years ago looking for my "baby uncle" they did a search nothing could be found. If you do inquiry by mail I would suggest a donation and a self stamped envelope you will get a faster reply. Good hunting. Diane
Here is a database of burials that is still an ongoing project http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~ilmaga/menard/cemetery/cem_rosehill_1dex.html
I would like to know if there is a census of Rose Hill Cemetery either online or otherwise. I am looking for a Anna Margaret Carr Taft whom I believe is buried in Rose Hill with her parents Oliver and Elizabeth Carr. I would also like to know if there would have been records kept in 1936 regarding the shipment of the remains of a person being sent into the state of Illinois. The remains of Anna were supposedly shipped by rail from Portland Or to Chicago for burial. I have been searching for Anna and her sister for quite a while and will appreciate any help.
The problem was corrected on the same day that it happened. Mary Diane Miskiewicz wrote: > Much was said regarding corrupt website is it still like that or is it workable now? > >
