Apr 10, 1952 in Greenup Co., KY, William F. b. abt. 1864 in NC, Mintie F. b. abt. 1868 in VA, Hardenile b. abt 1874 in VA, Laura C. b. abt 1876 in VA, Ben Martin b. abt. 1879 in VA. The family, according to lore, came from NC shortly after the Civil War in horse and wagon to VA on a three-month journey and then Wayne and Logan Counties in WV, Floyd and Johnson Co., KY and Greenup Co., KY. The son John married 1. Edith King d/o Tandy KING and Fanny HARRIS in Floyd Co., KY with chrn: Rosie Allifaire, Minnie, Cindy, Mary, and America. Married 2. Ella HALL of Foyd Co., KY with chrn. : Dewey, Henry, Sam, Corbit, Tiney, and Leona. By the mid to late 1920's, he had moved with his second family to Greenup Co., KY in the Chinn's Branch area and had assumed the name Hall (his wife's maiden name). Only one son, Corbit, kept the Cook name and lived in Whitehouse, KY in Johnson Co., KY at the time of his death. Any information on this family would be greatly appreciated.
