We are still seeking information concerning John Daniel Cook I, born 1763 in Kingsbury, NY and died 1818 in Ohio. He married (1) Christianna Beck(or Heck) and (2) Anna Mary Bistle (or Bristle). We now understand that his parents may have been Daniel Cook and Susannah (Unkown). Daniel Cook's parents may have been Nicholas Cook and Joanna Rockwood. Nicholas Cook's father may have been (according to family legend) a man from Wales named Walter Gail who worked as a shipboard cook and ended up with the name Cook as a consequence.
