    2. Of course, much of the data on the sites in Heartland is useless, as there is no documentation to verify any of it. This is a problem with almost all Internet sites, there is simply no way to know if there is any accuracy at all in the data posted. I have yet to find ANY site, including the LDS Family Search site, that is totally accurate And many that I have found are so inaccurate, that I suspect that the misrepresentation is deliberate. So, use any information that you receive from your computer with a VERY large grain of salt. And always check the accuracy yourself (NOT by checking another site, as much of the data is just repeated from one site to another). The Internet is both a boon and a bane to Genealogists. A boon, in that there is a LOT of data available that previously was not. A bane, because it is difficult, especially for beginners and those that want to play around with genealogy, to tell the difference between valid information, and barnyard material!
