    3. Finally completed is a new book for Sabine Parish, Louisiana. This includes the complete 1850 census for the Parish with added family information. Under each listing is the name of the spouse (maiden), birth, death and marriage dates and locations along with place of burial of each member of the family. (All based on availability) There are notations as to where families migrated to if they did not stay in the Parish of if they stay, how long a period of time they stayed in the Parish. There is a history of the US Census, helpful hints listings for using census records, Census records specific to the state of Louisiana and a dempographic breakdown of the 1850 census in Sabine Parish. There is a listing of "Early Firsts" for Sabine Parish, and a listing of early settlers of the Parish and what they are noted for. There are maps showing boundry changes that affected the Parish and surrounding areas and there is a listing of Federal Lands sold to early settlers of Sabine and some in Natchitoches and surrounding areas with complete legal land descriptions. There are also maps of the Land Office's in Louisiana and the territory that they controlled. There is a listing of the cemeteries in Sabine Parish and the book is indexed. It is soft covered with a spiral binding for easy use. Spouses of children are also listed etc for each family. I have made every attempt to provide some information on every family in the census even if only to say that they are no longer present in the Parish although this is not usually the case. If interested please contact me. This is a great source for anyone with family in the area or those surrounding areas such as Natchitoches, DeSoto or Vernon Parish.
