I hit a BINGO this week. Thanks to this wonderful list. I have looked for my grandfather for almost two years with nothing. I had the last name Cook and a medal he carried with him from the TN National Guard. He had two identities. He married my grandmother in WV with his new identity. Someone on this list told me to look in the TN Archival in Nashville. It took about six months but a great BIG bingo. Thank you, Thank you, His name is William Cook (I now know this for a fact) He was born at Topton, NC Cherokee, CO. His mother was Elizabeth Rogers Cook. I still need father. May be Henry Cook he was not listed. William Cook lived at Copper Hill, TN in 1916 when he enlisted. He came to WV in 1919 with a new identity. He may have left a wife behind in the Copper Hill, TN, NC area. If you have any information on this family I sure would appreciate hearing from you. Again I would like to say THANK YOU.
