Before long you will know everyone and feel comfortable. We are a unique group of people. We cry together and we laugh together, as we are truly one big happy family. The best part about us is the way we help each other. If you are new to the Internet, or new to genealogy, please do ask questions. Someone in this group has an answer to help you. We are all eager to see who your Cook's were so when you are ready, do post them. Our subject lines are looking much better! It's really for our benefit that we learn to fill them out so members can tell exactly what's inside. We have members who will not read a query if it doesn't give information. So I wonder how many of you aren't getting your query read? Maybe you haven't sent one in a long time because you didn't get any replies. I hope you can think up a good subject line and resend it. The main thing is that we want to catch someone's eye! With the bingo's we have had on this list, I know someone is doing something right. Let's practice :) I was so proud of the way we conducted ourselves last week! We did need to know about the happy99 e-mail. I hope next time we can get the subject line in it's right place. If we do this...no one can complain about the extra posts that are being sent in. Why? because no one HAS to read Chat. Read below the description of Chat and you will get a better idea of what I am trying to accomplish for our list. Chat is just what it is...chat nothing more. If we learn to stay within our guidelines, we are safe. No one has the right to say anything back to you because you filled the subject line out with CHAT first. Let's really start using the Courtesy Rules so we are always in the right. Rule or Post #3:CHAT: Give Short Description.....Acknowledgments, greetings, well-wishes, holiday greetings, chit chat for members of the list.
