Whoa, First it would be nice to contact this person and see if they actually know they have the virus. I too got hit by the Happy99 it came to me from a piece of bounced mail from one of the three list (COOK,BIRD or NYSTEUBE). I didn't open the file but it still did some damage, I lost my inbox on my Netscape server and lost my total AOL program. What i suggest you do is write the list you received it off of and let the members know that if anyone has opened a file called Happy99 that shows a firework display that they have the worm. Even if they are not sure they have if, they should assume they do if they opened this firework file and should NOT send any futher mail till they get rid of the worm from their computer. If any thinks they have this worm here's how to remove it; Removing the worm manually: 1.delete WINDOWS\SYSTEM\SKA.EXE 2.delete WINDOWS\SYSTEM\SKA.DLL 3.replace WINDOWS\SYSTEM\WSOCK32.DLL with WINDOWS\SYSTEM\WSOCK32.SKA 4.delete the downloaded file, usually named HAPPY99.EXE This is just one reminder that we sould NEVER download anything from anyone we don't know. Of course I know several person that received it from friends that didn't know they were sending it. The best thing is that you get a virus protection program and keep it up todate.
