In *this* case, I wouldn't worry about it (especially if someone has used it & nothing has happened). EXE means executable. Normally a TREE file is a DOS program & shouldn't be touched unless you know what you're doing. But with genealogy, it could also be a family tree program?? Usually anything sent via e-mail attachment with ".EXE" should NOT be downloaded unless you really trust the sender. REALLY Trust!
