    1. [COOK-L] COOK: New to genealogy query
    2. Clark, Les
    3. My ggGrandfather Robert Cook was born in Dunkinfield, Cheshire, England on 14 November 1812. He migrated to Ontario Canada and lived in Frontenac, Kingston Twp. I believe he met and married my ggGrandmother Olive Maria Gillett there. I think she was born in Midland, Kingston Twp. on 10 January 1841. They had a son Thomas Benjamin Cook and migrated to Aurora, Illinois, USA where his mother Olive Maria Cook ran a restaurant on the island. This would have been in the late 1860s or 1870s. Thomas Benjamin Cook married Ida Belle Crouch in Topeka, Kansas in August 1880. His first two children were born in Illinois, presumably Aurora. The family then migrated to the Dakota Territory, BeadleCo and HandCo sometime before 1887 where Olive Maria homesteaded near Huron. Then most of the family including my Grandmother Ruth Caroline Cook migrated to Hughes Springs, Cass, TX. My Grandmother married Frank Leonard Clark and moved to New Orleans, Louisiana. I would like to find some cousins descended from Robert Cook. I am very new to genealogy research and would appreciate any pointers for how to approach finding information about my Cooks. Thanks, Lester J. Clark
