    3. True, many of the Cooks on this list seem to be southerners, but mine aren't. Please see if you recognize any of these: Jacob Cook, b. 1786, presumably in Mass. or vicinity. Married Abigail (maiden name unknown) (b. 1786, location unknown) prior to 1809 (they had a son born in 1809 in Perry NY who died in 1815). Obituary of their son (Lyman, 1820-1898) said they moved from Massachusetts to Licking Co. Ohio, and must have arrived there by 1815, as their first son is buried in Licking Co. Jacob died in 1872, and Abigail died in 1859, both at Granville, Licking Co., Ohio. The tombstones don't give any more information than the year of death. I have some information on some of the descendants of Jacob and Abigail Cook, which I am quite willing to share. Any help would be appreciated. -- Phil Philip B.
