This is in response to Joe Cook. I have a Cook family in Tompkins Co. at the same time. My Cook connection is through a Sarah Cook who was born in 1809 in Genoa Co. but the family moved to Tompkins Co. in the 1820s. She had a brother John born in 1827. Her father was a son of a Burnet Cook who moved to this part of NY in the 1794. Their were a number of brothers in this family but no John's but he could be a son of one of them. Burnet's brothers were Silas, and Lot. There also was an Uncle Nathan and his family in the area. Hope this helps and gives you some names to look into. Pat
