According to his Civil War files he was born in Union County in 1825 (I have a feeling it was Anson at that time, since Union wasn't formed until 1842.) He was married to Nancy Ann Whitley of Union County (Aug 23,1848) marriage bond is on file in Union County Court House, Monroe, NC. Any information would be appreciated... H.
