Looking for info on Mordecai Hanes Cook b abt 1821 NJ d 1864 as a Union Soldier in Indiana. He married Mary Scott of Licking County Ohio. Children of Mordecai and Mary Cook were: Ira Cook b abt 1856 OH (MY LINE) Ira moved to Nebraska/Kansas area and married Malinda Elizabeth Craig. Ira and Malinda had 3 sons; John David, Samuel Mordecai and William. Malinda died when the boys were young. George Milan Cook b abt 1844 OH Sylvester Scott Cook b 2/16/1846 OH d 11/27/1897 LA. Sylvester married Ann Elizabeth Bowman. Edward Clarence Cook b abt 1847 Charles Henry Cook b abt 1850 Hannah Almira Cook b 10/16/1851 OH Eva Cook b 10/19/1856 OH William Cook b 9/10/1859 OH Lucinda Alice Cook b 6/19/1862 OH Harriet Cook (have not been able to find record of her yet) Mordecai and Mary Scott Cook were living in Licking County OH for the 1840 and 1850 Census. Then in 1860 they were in Putnam County Ohio. Have not been able to locate Mary Scott Cook after that (Mordecai died in 1864). on the 1840 Licking County OH Census there is a Benjamin Cook in the same township as Mordecia (Lima Township) Benjamin Cook 0121001-2000001 In 1850 he is left with only his Wife Hester and two daughters. Is Benjamin Cook the father of Mordecai Hanes Cook???????? Does anyone know this family? Would love to corespond. Paula Oregon
