Seek ancestors/siblinbs/descendants of JOSIAH H. COOK b. 1818 in Mechlenberg Co., NC, parents and siblings unknown. Married 21 June 1838 in Lexington, (Henderson Co.......) TN to Sarah BUCK who was born 28 Jan 1816 in Cabarrus Co., NC (Sarah was the daughter of George Henry Buck and Susannah Martha ( Neisler) Buck). The children of Josiah H. Cook and Sarah Buck were all born in Henderson Co., TN except the last, Lydia, who was born in Sebastian Co., ARK, and they were as follows: 1. George Henry Cook b. 17 July 1838, m. Lovina TEAGUE, d. 8 Oct. 1890 in TX. This son served in the Army of the Confederacy and was severely wounded/crippled in the Battle of Prairie Grove ARK. 2. Mary Ann Cook b. 1842, married William AKE, d. aft. 1900 in TX; 3. John Wm. Cook b. 1843, killed in Civil War w/ Union Army; 4. Margaret Susannah Cook b. 26 Feb 1844, m. Wm. Monroe BUSH, d. 1905 in TX; 5. Elizabeth J. Cook b. 1847, married William WARREN; 6. James Harvey Cook b. 18 Jan 1849, m. Mary Isabelle GANN, d. 1923 in ARK; 7. Sarah Cenith Emily Cook b. 19 July 1850, m. Rev. Thos. BERRY, d. 1905 TX; 8. Lydia Catherine Cook b. 18 Mar 1855 in Sebastian Co., ARK. Josiah H. Cook died in "Huntersville, ARK" 19 June 1864 while serving in the Union Army during the Civil War. "Huntersville", ARK once named Argenta, was renamed "North Little Rock" in 1901.
