    1. [COOK-L] COOK, Emily death
    2. Can anyone relate to either Emily or B. F. COOK? This is from a Randolph County, MO newspaper. Friday, 7 Nov 1924, Vol 38 No. 29--Mrs. Emily Cook Dead--Mrs. Emily Cook was called by death on Friday night, November 1st, 1924, at 1:35 o'clock. She was stricken with paralysis on Tuesday night and lived but three days. Her death was a shock to all her relatives and friends. She is survived by one child, Mrs. Ira Kirby, three brothers, John Blansett of Illinois, Mose and George Blansett of this place; two sisters--Mrs. Mary Kimbrell of Glenwood, Mo., and Mrs. Dave Robb of this place. Emily Blansett was born February 18, 1851, near Mt. Ararat church and lived in that neighborhood most all of her life. She married B. F. Cook October 14, 1877, and was a devoted wife and mother. She united with Mt. Ararat Baptist church in 1889 and lived a consistent Christian life. Mrs. Cook will be missed by all who knew her. Our sympathy goes out, especially to her daughter, Mrs. Kirby, who has lived with her all of her life, and the two grandchildren who dearly loved her. She will be sadly missed for it is a sore trial to give up loved ones. But she is not lost to us forever, for we can meet her at the throne of God. She is gone, but not forgotten, for the memory of her kind words and loving deeds will long be remembered by those whom she has helped. She has left this world of care and trouble for a brighter home above and "Twas not in cruelty, not in wrath, The reaper came that day. 'Twas an angel visited the earth And took your mother away."
