The 1850 census for Alamance County, NC contains the following information: FAMILY 331: Henry Cook, age 76, male, born VA. Margaret Cook, age 72, female, born NC. Duncan Cook, age 26, male, born NC. Arch. Cook, age 33, male. ("Arch." apparently is the abbreviation for "Archibald".) FAMILY 332: Daniel Cook, age 38, male. Susan Cook, age 20, female. Does anyone have more information on these families? Specifically, is this Henry Cook the same individual who was born in Sussex County, VA in 1773? Robert Nicholson
Hi listers ! Looking for William Cook. (Or his wife Harriet Swaney) Have come to the realization that he (they) might not have been born in PA or Beaver Co. at all. <Zounds!> I still think he's (they)buried in Shippingport, PA (Greene Twp, Beaver Co.) but have no evidence other than family lore. HELP! Family reunion time is getting closer, and I'm doing no better with this fellow. I don't even know which end of the family did the ferry service. . . .!! Link for shipbuilding was broken, so all ideas are greatly appreciated! amie peoples [email protected]
