Posted FYI: Transcription of Deed: George 2nd, etc., to all (illegible) know ye that for divers good causes and considerations but more especially for and in consideration of the sum of 15 sh. of good & current money for our use and paid to our Receiver General of our revenues in our colony & dominion of Virginia, we have given, granted & confirmed by these presents for us & heirs and successors, do give, grant & confirm unto John Cook one certain tract & parcel of land containing 150 acres lying and being in the Co. of Lunenburgh on the north side of Stanton River and bounded as follows to wit: beginning at a red oak on the sd river bank by the side of an old lick, thence new lines N20 (illegible, probably E)180 to a pine S20 W160 to a red oak S30E66 to a red bud bush on the river then down the same (illegible) meadows to the first station. With all etc., to have, hold, etc., to be held, etc., yielding & paying, etc., provided, etc., witness our trusty & well-beloved Robert Dinwiddie! , Esqr., Lt. Gov. and commander in chief of our sd colony & dominion at Williamsburg under the seal of our sd colony the 10th day of March 1756 in the 29th year of our reign. /s/ Robt.
