Hi everyone, I'm new to the list. :) I'm looking for info on Arthur James Cook and relatives of him. This is what I know about Arthur: Birth: 4th July 1883 in Ystrad, Glamorgan, Wales, UK. Death: 10th September 1944 in Trealaw, Wales, UK. He MAY have lived in Herefordshire at some point. Father: William Cook. Mother: someone Stallard. Wife: Sarah Gertrude Thornley (married 11th September 1911). Brothers: Ernie and David. Sons: Glyn Thornley (my Grandad!) and Lesley Arthur. He moved to London around 1936. I actually seem to have quite a lot more information about him too, but that's enough if you're aware of who he is. :) I want to know more about his Father and further back anyway, or find any other relatives of Arthur. All I know about his Father is that he's name was William and he worked as a railway platelayer in Treorchy, Wales, UK. I particularly want to trace the history back further past William Cook. I have found an Arthur James Cook who was a miner's leader and seemed quite famous at the time! Unfortunately the dates don't quite soon to match, although he was born in the same year and worked in the same area too! It seem a coinsidence but the dates just don't match. I wonder if they were somehow related though? Any leads on this would be very much appreciated. Many thanks, Geoff.
