I am researching our earliest known Cook ancestor, Daniel Cook of England, or POSSIBLY Ireland. This Daniel Cook (wife unknown) had a son, Abram (Abraham) Cook, born in Maryland. This son married Feebe (Phoebe) Mastin of Virginia. Abram and Feebe Mastine Cook had a son, (another) Daniel Cook, who m. Ruth Moultrie. This Daniel Cook fought in the Revolutionary War. This Daniel Cook had a son, Daniel Cook (1795-1878) who m. Martha Warren Norwood (1799-1840), dau. of (Capt.) John and Mary Dubose Norwood. Damoe; amd <artja ,/ om Darlington Dist., SC, and came to Alabama (Possum Bend near Camden in Wilcox County) where they built beautifu l Cook Hill, a South Carolinian style two-story house, which continues to stand, is owned and occupied by Cook descendants and is on tour from time to time. Nearby is the Cook Family Cemetery where Daniel and Martha Cook, as well as many other Cook descendants are buried. I realize that there were several "Daniel Cooks" who came to America from UK. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Robbie Cook Purser RobbiePurser@aol.com
