It is extremely faint and difficult to read, but what I can determine from it is copied below: Halifax Co., VA Will Book 7:126: Dr. [Debit] Rebecca Cook orphan of John Cook, dec'd in settlement with Elizabeth Cook, her guardian. (Illegible words) from Nov 1, 1795 to present [no date]. Names listed in the document: Henry Cook, Beverly Carter, Francis Carter, John Wall?, Robert Carter, Peter Cousins, Charles F. Wall?, John Wall?, Isaac Medley, others illegible. Total: L106.4.?? Signed: James Claiborne, Joseph Langford, James Vaughn. In a court held for Halifax County the 22nd day of July 1805, the within account current of Rebecca Cook, orphan of John Cook deceased with Elizabeth Cook her guardian (illegible words). Teste: John Winbush, CHC; Truly Recorded, Teste: Samuel Williams DCHC. >From what little I can gather, the bulk (if not all) of these funds came from hire on slaves whose names I cannot read; possibly Cary, George, Isaac, Jonas ... can't be sure.
