Dr. Joshua Flood Cook was president of LaGrange College, LaGrange, MO, 1866 to 1896 and a Confederate chaplain. He is the author of "Old Kentucky" (out of print) in 1908. This book exemplified the lifestyle in Shelby County, Kentucky before Joshua traveled west. You will be intrigued with the southern setting and will get a "feel" for his life and its importance.
