Dear Hollis, My ancestor, George Cook, died in 1814 in Jefferson Co. GA. One reference says, "George Cook of Hancock, Co.", but I have never been able to find any indication that he lived there or owned property in Hancock Co. I know he owned property in Screven Co., but I don't believe he lived there either. His mother and two stepfathers were Loyalists and George lived for much of his life in East FL. I have been looking for years for his deceased father and where they were before the Revolution. He married Jane Ashley, daughter of Nathaniel Ashley and Jane Williams. Ashleys lived in East FL, Camden Co. and Telfair Co., GA. I have a good bit of info beginning in the 1780's, but not much earlier. Would be glad to share. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
