Hello ALL! I've been gone awhile searching for ancestors and 'digging up bones'. Main Interest COOK(E)... Partial listing: William A COOK(E).. [because we find it spelled both ways] born in Stockport, England (we think) around 1833 and his spouse Mary HUDSON, also born in Stockport (we're told) also about 1833. Their Children... Miriam COOK(E) born 1862 Oldham and her brother Zachariah COOK(E) born 1868 Oldham. The entire family migrated to Coal Valley, Illinois, USA in 1868. Would like to find out where they embarked on their journey and where they landed in the USA... and how they got to Coal Valley from there. Anyone who lives in/ around Stockport who might be able to do a look up on the two parents for Birth and/or Marriage Registers would draw our eternal gratitude... especially if the registers revealed William and Mary's parents as well! I kinda/sorta know a little about them but need register entries/certs for verification. If SKS could locate the information and pass Vol/Page/Etc info to me so I can order a cert, I'd just love it! Or maybe you can shoot me a price (in US funds) maybe same person could return and get a copy to mail. This is about the only way I can see to discover William and Mary's parents... right? Unless there is such a critter as an 1831 Census for the area..... If these family members fit in YOUR info as well, you can e-mail me off-line straight-away and we'll talk about them. We think William had two brothers and a sister: John / Thomas / and Harriet! Right now that only amounts to speculation, however, if true, we'd like to zero-in on them as well to see where the family went. Yeah, I know... long message.
