BROADWAY, VIRGINIA IS IN ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, SHANENDOAH VALLEY I'm fairly new at this so please bear with me. None of what you wrote sounds familiar to me except Virginia. My Great Grandfather was James J. Cook who was born in Broadway, Virginia. Name of his parents (on his marriage certificate) was James Cook and Elizabeth Fisher. James J. Cook was born 12-16-1983 in Broadway, Virginia and later moved to Jeffersonville, Ohio where he married Ida E. Myers 12-16-1883. Ida was born in 1863. They had 6 children - Cora born 1884, Albert born 1886 (My Grandfather), Chester born 1888, Ulen born 1893, Howard born 1898 and Lester born 1901. Our first known Daniel Cook came to VA from England or Ireland and his wife (name unknown) from Wales. They had a son Abram Cook, born in Maryland, but reared in VA, who m. Phoebe (Feebe) Mastin of VA. Abram and Phoebe had a son, Daniel Cook, who fourght in the Revolution and who m. Ruth Moultrie. Ruth's mother was a Mary White. Daniel and Ruth Moultrie Cook had a son, Daniel Cook, (1795-1878) who m. Martha Warren Norwood (1799-1840) of Darlington, SC. This couple came to Wilcox County, AL via DeKalb County and other area of GA. They arrived in AL in Feb. of 1830. Daniel and Martha built beautiful Cook Hill which continues to stand, be occcupied by Cook descendants and is on tour from time to time. We hope that we may hear from you.
