The New England Hist. and Genealogical Register, Vol. 126 (1972), contains an article on descendants of Joshua Cook of Eastham, Mass. On page 90 it lists marriage of John Cook & Caty Shaft on June 1, 1796, based on records of German Reform Church, New Rhinebeck, Cobbleskill, Schoharie Co., NY. John Cook is a son of Elijah Cook (No. 11 on page 89), and Caty Shaft is a daughter of John Shaft. I seek all information on this John Cook (There were many John Cooks in upstate New York in this time period) and on Caty Shaft and her family. Note that Shaft could be Schaft or Schaf and Caty could be Catherine or Katie, etc. I would be grateful for information about these people. Thanks for your help. Kenneth
