I don't believe that we are of German descent but we certainly lack a lot knowing the early ancestry of our family. From a diary we know that our first Daniel Cook came from England. Early stories were that there was Irish blood, also. We have wondered if his father could have come from Ireland. Can someone help me here? What books or documents would be good to pursue in an effort to trace "all the Daniels" who made an early entry to this country? I know there were a number of Daniels. It would be an overwhelming job, but I am willing to begin such an effort in hopes of learning more about our "first" Daniel Cook who, according to a diary, came from England. RobbiePurser@aol.com
