Found in the family trunk belonging to my Grandfather, James Jasper Cook of Calhoun, Gordon Co. GA, a letter dated Feb. 26, 1896, postmarked Senoia, Newnan, GA to "My Dear Brother" from "your sister until death, Sallie Cook." The envelope is addressed to "Mr. J. Sh. Cook, Colhan, Ga." To my knowledge my grandfather had no sister or sister-in-law named Sallie and I'm wondering if it was a postal misdelivery or came there to a visiting relative. Names mentioned: Susie, Ed "going to see the girls every Sunday", Estell, Mamie, Lillie, Gaz/Gus?, and mentions a baby "ain't knee high to a duck" walking. A lookup volunteer in gave me the following from Coweta Co., Ga Marriages 1827-1979: Cook, James - Brooks, Estelle 8/8/1897; Helms, W.I. - Cook, Susie 12/30/1890; Cook, Edward - Coggins, Etta 10/23/1898. From the Coweta Co. Cemetery Book: Sallie H. Brown Cook wife of J. C. Cook b. 1854 d. 1899 & next to Sallie is James Caleb Cook b. 1850 d. 1939 at Jones Chapel Meth. Church in Madras, GA. Can anyone identify? I'd be happy to have a descendant have this letter. Martha
