Looking for any info on my g-grandfather, John Clawson or Clausen Cook. An old family bible page states he was born in Jan 1822 in VA. He married Kisiah Lynn in 1850 in Livingston County, KY. He died in Oct 1857 in MS.

Hello, Terry, We have corresponded before about your ancestor and mine, James Cook, who lived in Hardin County, Illinois, where Kisiah later lived. I still think there is a good chance that we are related. Through DNA, I have found the family that my James Cook belonged to (although I still cannot prove which one was his father). I urge you to participate in the Cook DNA project at familytreedna.com. It may be the only way that we will ever find out for sure whether John Clausen Cook belonged to the same family as James and Frederick Cook (another early Hardin Co. resident related to me).
